On Oct 23, at the Moscow Culture Pavilion of the China Licensing Expo (CLE), the operator of the Zhejiang Digital Cultural International Cooperation, a National Cultural Export Base, officially signed a cooperation agreement with CHOUVO MIDIS (MIDIS hereafter). Guests including Mastusova Irina, the executive chairperson of the Russian Animation Association; Maksim Usynin, the president of MIDIS; and Yuliang Shen, Deputy Office Director of the Work Leading Group of Zhejiang Digital Culture International Cooperation Zone, attended the signing ceremony. On the one-stop AI comic drama platform, Zoland Animation and MIDIS will co-produce AI comic drama lessons with universities and companies in China and Russia. They will also conduct joint training and build a national training base, promoting the industry-education integration of new international animation.
At the signing ceremony, both Mastusova Irina and Maksim Usynin delivered speeches. Two guests expressed their high recognition of Zoland Animation, a leading enterprise in the cooperation zone, for its creative work and technological exploration in AI animation. They also expressed their hopes for closer cooperation between China and Russia in the animation industry and education, looking forward to using this signing as an opportunity to further promote exchanges and collaboration between the two countries in animation talent development and industry advancement.
“For me, this is the main reason for our cooperation. Our teacher will engage in the whole process of creation, get feedback from the leading industry professionals worldwide, and then bring their experience to inspire MIDIS students. Our goal is not only to show the scenes generated by AI, but also to guide our students to write an attractive story. After acquiring how to create vertical microdramas on the Zoland AI platform, our teachers will endeavour to teach our students of the newly built Animation and AI Animation Workshop skills and teaching methods”, said Maksim Usynin.
Yuliang Shen briefly introduced Zoland Animation's business footprint and reviewed the two parties' cooperation in his speech. According to him, this cooperation opportunity benefits from the cooperation mechanism between the Russian Animation Association and the China Animation Association, and also the exchange activity held by iABC. Since the first meeting with MIDIS in June 2026, it only took one month for the two parties to sign the agreement, and Zoland Animation is impressed by MIDIS’s commitment and sincerity. By cooperating with MIDIS, Zoland Animation is committed to facilitating international cooperation to promote industry-education integration in new animation and to engaging more institutions and enterprises in the new opportunities and achievements of the AIGC era.
Witnessed by guests and audiences, Yuliang Shen and Maksim Usynin officially signed the Agreement on the Development of AI Comic Drama Courses and Related Services and posed for a group photo.
It is reported that, relying on the one-stop Zoland AI Comic Drama platform, Zoland Animation will deliver to MIDIS the Russian-language version of a 64-lesson AI comic drama production course and a 20-lesson practical training video course, and provide 10 Q&A training sessions. The lessons address fundamentals of AIGC, scriptwriting for AI comic dramas, design of characters and scenes, and production of live-action movies, as well as modules such as voice-over, editing, colour grading, and export. Later, Zoland Animation and MIDIS will build a training base together and expand both domestic and international markets. Currently, the key teaching staff of MIDIS is undergoing training on the Zoland AI Comic Drama platform. Zoland Animation will issue them a Certificate of Practical Work Placement upon completion.
Following the ceremony, the two parties visited the Zhongnan Leyou exhibition booth and held a business meeting. They exchanged views on long-term plans, including the joint establishment of a China-Russia training base and the development of regional markets. They also discussed concrete steps to advance the implementation of future cooperation initiatives, as well as topics such as the Silk Road International Creative Competition and the promotion and application of international Chinese language education in Russian-speaking countries. Moving forward, the Cooperation Zone will continue to leverage the one-stop Zoland AI Comic Drama platform to support leading enterprises such as Zoland Animation in building on their industrial strengths in AI animation production and technology development. It will continue to promote industry-academia-research collaboration in the new animation sector, closer coordination between education and industry, and the international expansion of vocational education, thereby fostering animation talent development and industrial exchanges and cooperation between China and Russia.
