Zoland Animation is set to appear once again at the Annecy International Animation Festival
June 22, 2026

The 2026 Annecy International Animation Festival will be held from June 21 to 27. As the world's oldest and largest international animation festival (a Category A event), Annecy is widely regarded as the "Oscars of animation," drawing top creators and institutions from over a hundred countries each year. Running concurrently, the MIFA market—the world's largest professional animation trade fair—will open its doors from June 23 to 26.

Zoland Animation will once again participate in this year's Annecy Animation Festival, serving as the executive organizer for the "China Joint Pavilion," the China Outstanding Animation Showcase, the Exchange Session between Chinese and International Animation Professionals, the Animation Study Masterclass, and a series of other side events, building a bridge for in-depth dialogue and cooperation between Chinese and international animation professionals. Wu Jia, Chairwoman of Zhejiang Zoland Animation Co., Ltd., will lead the delegation and participate throughout the event, engaging in meaningful exchanges with peers from China and abroad.
During the upcoming China Outstanding Animation Showcase, Zoland Animation will present a selection of traditional cultural IPs, including A New Happy Dad and Son & Magic Eye Animated Movie: The Chaotic 7th Day, Rubi's Adventure, Legend of King Qian, and Legendary Su Dongpo, as well as flagship series such as Magic Eye. In particular, Zoland Animation will place strong emphasis on promoting A New Happy Dad and Son & Magic Eye Animated Movie: The Chaotic 7th Day.

This year's featured film, A New Happy Dad and Son & Magic Eye Animated Movie: The Chaotic 7th Day, is co-produced by Zoland Animation and CCTV Animation, bringing together two classic Chinese animation IPs. Marking the first-ever on-screen collaboration between these two beloved national characters, the film not only revives childhood memories for a generation but also injects fresh vitality into the classic icons through a brand-new narrative perspective.

With a runtime of 85 minutes, the film blends live-action and fantasy elements in a light-hearted comedic tone, targeting family audiences and produced in 3D animation. The story follows Happy Dad and Xiangling, who suddenly grow up overnight thanks to the magical power of Magic Eye's third eye. As they accidentally step into the adult world, they embark on an adventure that leads them to re-examine the meaning of childhood and responsibility. Through its humorous and witty approach, the film delves into real-world issues such as children's psychology, parent-child relationships, and modern educational anxieties, offering both parents and children an opportunity to laugh together while reflecting and growing together.

Works presented by Zoland Animation at previous editions of the festival have also drawn considerable interest. In 2025, the historical animation Legend of King Qian was featured, telling the legendary story of Qian Liu, who built the city of Hangzhou. In 2024, Legendary Su Dongpo was exhibited, using digital animation to bring to life the enduring connection between the famed poet-official Su Dongpo and Hangzhou.

In addition to its commitment to high-quality animation production, Zoland Animation is also accelerating its presence in AI technology and IP operation, continuously expanding the boundaries of its content ecosystem.

In the field of AI comic series, Zoland Animation has made a full-scale entry, producing multiple hit titles such as Quitting My Job to Return to the Village and Make a Fortune, A Rescue Thirty Years Too Late, The Decibel Game, and My Landlord Is a Nine-Tailed Fox, covering diverse genres including rural revitalization, cross-temporal redemption, mystery suspense, and fantasy adventure. Among these, the AI comic series project totals 10,080 minutes in length, with 164 episodes.

In the education sector, Zoland Tika has launched the "AI Animation Chinese Language School Platform," pioneering a model that integrates "Animation IP + AI-powered functional games + International Chinese Language Education." By deeply combining classic animation IPs with AI educational models, the platform offers year-round, 365-day curriculum services to students around the globe.

The platform has established a comprehensive teaching infrastructure and an overseas promotion system, providing eight foundational Chinese language courses and full-cycle teaching services. It enables "one-click assignment.

In the field of IP operation, Zoland Leyou, as the Zoland Group's platform dedicated to the branding, trendsetting, and product commercialization of animated IPs, has successfully incubated and managed multiple popular characters. Among them, the most representative is "Yimo," an adorable little tapir that has amassed over 8 million followers across all online platforms, with over 5 million on TikTok alone—making it a beloved animated character among global audiences.

It is also reported that, in addition to the booth exhibition and the showcase, the China Joint Pavilion will organize a series of high-profile side events, including the Exchange Session between Chinese and International Animation Professionals, the Animation Study Masterclass, the China-Europe Animation Education Dialogue, as well as project signing and achievement release ceremonies.

From the contemporary reinvention of classic IPs to the diverse expressions of emerging original voices, Chinese animation is embracing the global narrative with growing confidence and openness.
